Mia Bearden is a reporter with a passion for storytelling and connecting with her community through meaningful, human-interest stories. Originally from the south suburbs of Chicago, Mia is thrilled to be closer to home.
Mia earned her undergraduate degree from Illinois State University and went on to complete her master's in journalism at Northwestern University.
Before joining CBS 58 in 2025, she spent two years in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where she worked as a reporter and anchor at KCRG.
Mia is dedicated to telling stories that matter - those that highlight everyday people and amplify underrepresented voices.
When she's not reporting, Mia loves catching up on her favorite TV shows and trying new restaurant and fun activities with friends.
