Staying mild through Christmas with a few sprinkles possible around the holiday
The start to December has been pretty chilly overall. The first two weeks of the month were very cold and we finally started to get into some mild air about a week ago. Overall, December is running with an average temperature of 21.6 degrees which is over nine degrees below average. It is currently tied for the 27th coldest start to the month on record.
After some up and down temps last weekend we've finally started to stay mild and will continue to do so through the Christmas holiday. Highs hang out in the low to middle 40s through the end of the week. Christmas Day has trended much colder than what it looked like at the end of last week but still above average around 40.
When it comes to precipitation, no rain or snow is expected on Tuesday. Wednesday, Christmas Eve, could see a few sprinkles or isolated showers in the afternoon and evening. Something to keep in mind as you go in and out of the car. Christmas Day on Thursday looks pretty dry until nighttime when some rain is possible.
