For years the family of Tavon Johnson has waited for someone to be held responsible for his death. Now a man is charged.
Damonte Fipps is now charged with first degree reckless homicide and first degree recklessly endangering safety in Johnson's death.
He was already behind bars in Milwaukee on a separate case from the homicide in the shooting death of Kealicia Clark. She was shot and killed in September, 2015. According to police, it happened on the front porch of her home near 26th and Auer.
Police say three years earlier in 2012 Fipps shot Tavon Johnson near the corner of North 29th Street and West Townsend.
According to the criminal complaint, witnesses told police that after the shooting, Fipps was bragging about how the police couldn't get enough evidence to charge him.
Fipps is due back in court on August 15 for the Clark case.
