MPD etches fallen officer Kendall Corder's name into memorial, 1 year after his death

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Friday, June 26, marks one year since Milwaukee police officer Kendall Corder was shot in the line of duty. 

He was wounded in what police called an ambush near 24th Place and Garfield. He died three days later from his injuries.

Corder served with Milwaukee police for six years.

His killed has since been convicted.

Friday, his name was etched on a permanent memorial outside of police headquarters.

The Milwaukee Police Association said, "While justice has been served, nothing can replace the son, friend and brother officer we lost."
