Wet start to the last week of September
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- UW-Milwaukee welcomed their incoming students Friday, April 23, and this was not a virtual event.
The students actually got to visit the east side campus.
"We know that it's really been a long, hard year and folks are excited to get back to whatever the new normal is."
UWM is gearing up for what officials hope will be a more traditional college experience when the fall semester begins.
"Today the morale has been really exciting," said UWM Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management Kay Eilers. "It's great to get back on campus, this is one of our first big events that we've done since the start of the pandemic. And there's so much energy here on campus. I think people are really ready to get back and start seeing one another."
Friday's welcome comes a week before National Decision Day on May 1.
That's traditionally the day when high school seniors finalize their decision on where they plan to go to college.
