Isolated storms continue this evening
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Next Door, a Milwaukee-based early childhood education provider, is hosting its annual Read for Children event through the end of May with a goal of reaching 100,000 minutes of reading.
The campaign aims to shine a light on the importance of early literacy and invites community members to read to children at its two campuses.
Missy Hodzinski, Alan Zukrow and Shakeda Caldwell joined us on Wednesday, May 14 to discuss the month-long effort and its volunteer opportunities.
Special guest readers include Mayor Cavalier Johnson and Fire Chief Aaron Lipski.
Sessions take place Tuesdays through Thursdays from 9 to 11 a.m. at the 29th Street and Capitol Drive locations. Registration is available by clicking here. New or gently used children’s book donations are also being accepted.
