Motorcyclist killed after colliding with SUV in Village of Salem Lakes

VILLAGE OF SALEM LAKES, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Kenosha County officials say a motorcyclist has died after a crash in the Village of Salem Lakes Monday, Sept. 22. 

First responders arrived at the scene in the 27400 block of County Highway C/Wilmot Road and County Highway C and 274th Avenue around 8 p.m. 

Officials say the motorcycle driver, a 49-year-old woman, was traveling west on CTH C as an SUV was traveling east. As the SUV was attempting to turn left to head north on 274th Avenue, it was struck on its passenger side by the motorcycle. 

The motorcyclist sustained severe injuries and died at an area hospital. 

The sheriff's office says the SUV driver was uninjured, and their two passengers sustained minor injuries. 

Officials say speed does not appear to be a factor. The Kenosha County Major Crash Assistance Team is investigating.
