MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee bakery made one girl's dream a reality to celebrate her quinceñera in a unique way.
A quinceñera is a celebration of a girl's 15th birthday in many Latin American cultures, akin to a sweet sixteen.
Todo Postres bakery on Milwaukee's south side got a request from a client for a cake for the celebration, but the event was in Mexico.
The bakery was determined to fulfill the request so they got a special box for the cake, got it on the plane in its own seat and sent it with the family where it arrived in Mexico in one piece.
"When it arrived in Mexico, it arrived well and we were relieved when it got there," said Jesús Besoso, owner of Todo Postres. "There in Mexico, it was crazy because everyone was saying how pretty the cake looked and that they liked it. People shared lots of photos and nice comments."
The bakery said it is looking forward to sending more cakes to other parts of the country and the world.
