Milwaukee Art Museum fountains go pink

The water fountains at the Milwaukee Art Museum were dyed pink on Wednesday in preparation for the 17th annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure on the Milwaukee Lakefront.  The Komen foundation hopes to raise $1 million for breast cancer research with the event.

This year’s race will kick off at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday September 27th.  The Komen foundation expects more than 15,000 participants for the 5K race this year.  The Race starts outside the Discovery World and Milwaukee Art Museum campuses on the lakefront.

Same-day registration is available from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the North Gate at Summerfest.  If you register on race day the fees are $40 for adults and $35 for children.  Participants who pre-register online will pay $30 for adults and $25 for children.
