MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Mayor Cavalier Johnson has signed another resolution supporting an Innovation District in Walker's Point. That means even more development will be on the way.
City leaders are hopeful the designation will encourage new public spaces, eco-friendly housing, and business growth opportunities.
The mayor spoke on the benefits that large tech companies can bring and why having them in Milwaukee is so impactful.
"We need more businesses, more thinkers, more doers, right here to realize their dreams, their potential, right here in the Innovation District because it encourages innovation, it invites investment and it sends a message- a loud, proud, bold message- that Milwaukee is open for business," Mayor Johnson said.
The Innovation District's website can tell you which companies have already signed on and what to expect in the future of Innovation Districts here in Milwaukee. To find it, click here.
