MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Hunger Task Force is making sure no child goes hungry over the summer with its Milwaukee Summer Meals Program.
The program kicked off Tuesday morning in Moody Park.
About 140 different organizations will host sites marked with a bright green sign to help children get free, healthy meals each day. They will offer educational and recreational programs.
"The free summer meals program brings a lot of security to parents, grandparents everywhere, they're worried about their kids eating them out of house and home, they're really challenged to put enough food on the table with very meager food stamp resources so the Free Summer Meals Program is going to bring a huge amount of relief, for the kids themselves, it's going to mean that they have a healthy and safe summer," Sherrie Tussler with the Hunger Task Force.
The Summer Meals Program lasts all summer long. To find a location near you, please click here.
