Gov. Walker to address statewide propane shortage Monday

MADISON -- Governor Scott Walker will address the propane shortage that prompted him to declare a State of Emergency in Wisconsin.

Walker will meet with propane stakeholders Monday before delivering remarks at the State Capitol Building.

The State of Emergency means the governor can call on the National Guard and other agencies to help with recovery efforts brought on by the shortage.

“The health and safety of our citizens is our number one priority, and this declaration gives us the necessary resources to protect the residents of Wisconsin,” Governor Walker said in a statement. “I will do everything I can within my power to help our friends and loved ones relying on propane to heat their homes or businesses during this challenging situation.”

Those affected by the shortage can call an emergency hotline for assistance at (866) 432-8947.
