Early voting begins in Milwaukee
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Felicia Boon, the Cudahy woman accused of abusing and neglecting her 15-year-old stepdaughter, took the witness stand during a jury trial on Monday.
According to court records, Felicia Boon and the victim's father, 47-year-old Kevin Boon, are both charged with six felonies, including child abuse and neglect.
Police were called to the couple’s home in December and found the teen living in terrible conditions.
The girl was locked in her room and forced to go to the bathroom there, according to a criminal complaint. Authorities also say the parents put three other children in the home in charge of the girl.
"I would not tell my children to hurt anyone," said Felicia Boon in court.
Court documents say the other kids poured hot water on the girl, beat her with a metal pole, zip-tied her to a bed and choked her.
“I did not see, nor did I know the kids got into a dispute. I didn’t see it, know it. If I had an inkling that was going to happen I would have intervened," said Felicia Boon.
The trial will resume Tuesday morning.
