DE PERE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Customers across northeastern Wisconsin continue to experience service disruptions due to an ongoing outage affecting Cellcom’s voice and SMS messaging capabilities.

The service provider acknowledged the outage in a public statement released Saturday, May 18, and said there remains no estimated time for full restoration.

The service update also included, “We know how important this is to you, and we want answers just as much as you do. The reality is, restoring voice service is not as simple as flipping a switch. It’s a complex process, and while we’re not yet at the finish line, significant progress continues to be made every hour."

They added, "We remain fully committed to seeing this through and will keep you updated as we move forward.”

Cellcom added there is no indication that customer data has been compromised.
