MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- In the wake of actor Bruce Willis's recent dementia diagnosis, Stephanie Leanes, Memory Care Administrator at Lutheran Home in Wauwatosa, joined us on Monday, March 27 to share insights into what it is like to live with the condition.
Leanes oversees Elaine's Hope Memory Care facility and the Mind Effects program, which assists dementia patients and their caregivers in navigating life after diagnosis.
As dementia cases are projected to triple in the US by 2050, Leanes emphasized the significance of obtaining an accurate diagnosis and understanding some crucial initial steps for families facing this difficult news.
