Wisconsin, (CBS 58) -- Just two weeks after Hurricane Harvey, The BloodCenter of Wisconsin is once again stepping up to help a state in need.
The organization is flying 170 blood donations down to Florida to help with Hurricane Irma relief efforts.
Officials say when two natural disasters happen back-to-back, it's critical to have people donate blood.
"It really hammers the importance of having an ample blood supply, not only to help people here in Wisconsin but others when we're called upon for help in a time of crisis," said Matt Queen with the Blood Center of Wisconsin.
People with O-Positive and O-Negative blood are needed most. The Blood Center says it will take any donation, however.
