WAUKEGAN, Ill. (CBS 58) — Employees at the Waukegan plant that exploded Friday night told CBS Chicago two employees were missing after the explosion.
Employees told CBS Chicago one of the employees is Byron Biehn, who lives just outside of Union Grove, Wisconsin.
Employees said Biehn is a 53-year-old, second shift supervisor who warned people to get out before the explosion.
“This is devastating,” said Biehn’s neighbor, Claude Welker.
Welker said he has been friends with Biehn since high school and described him as outgoing, a loving husband and father, and a great guy.
Welker said Biehn’s brother-in-law stopped by to tell him Biehn was missing.
“I was devastated. You don’t ever think this would happen to your neighbor, friend.”
