Woman Survives 134 Feet Fall from Hoan Bridge

A woman survived a 134 feet fall from the Hoan Bridge Thursday morning, according to the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded near the arches at 4:20 a.m.  Upon arrival, they saw a woman jump from the outside ledge of the bridge into the water below. 

The 57-year-old woman was removed from the water by Milwaukee Fire Department and US Coast Guard personnel.  She was conscious and breathing, and transported to Froedtert Hospital.  The distance from the bridge to the water is 134 feet.
