The second heat wave in three weeks has arrived. High temperatures will reach well into the 90s the next few days. Right now, Tuesday looks to be the hottest day of the week and potentially the hottest of the year with high temperatures reaching the upper 90s. High temperatures should still get well into the 90s Monday through Thursday and Friday will still come close.
One difference from the heat wave at the beginning of July is that dew points might be a little lower. The humidity level is mostly expected to stay in the upper 60s keeping things very muggy and humid but not as tropical or miserable feeling as our first heat wave.
Heat index values are expected to reach the upper 90s on Monday but should fall short of 100 for most areas which is why a Heat Advisory hasn't been issued.
Tuesday will be even hotter and a heat advisory and maybe even an Extreme Heat Warning will likely be issued. Feels like temps on Tuesday could get as high as 105. Wednesday will see similar heat index values potentially as high as 105 again with another Heat Advisory possible.
We do not have many chances for rain this week. Monday and Tuesday are expected to stay completely dry and sunny. Depending on when the heat ridge starts to break down, we could see a few isolated showers and storms starting Wednesday through the weekend.
