VILLAGE OF SUMMIT, Wis. (CBS 58) -- An investigation is underway after two children were injured -one seriously- in a utility terrain vehicle (UTV) accident in the Village of Summit.

Officials say first responders were called to Sugar Island just after 3 p.m. Monday for reports that a UTV had flipped over, causing a severe arm injury to one child. 

According to the Western Lakes Fire District, an off-duty paramedic on scene provided care to the child and recommended requesting Flight for Life.

The fire district says a second child was also injured, and both were taken by first responders to area hospitals. One of those children was flown from Aurora to Children's Wisconsin. 

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is investigating the incident.
