(CBS 58) – United Airlines is planning to expand its tool, ConnectionSaver, that helps customers connecting from one United flight to the next.
Right now, ConnectionSaver is in use at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport and Denver International Airport.
ConnectionSaver sends customers text-messages with directions to where their next gate it located, how long it will take to walk there from their arriving gate and amenities along the way.
The tool uses technology to scan flights that can be held for connecting customers, while making sure the other passengers will arrive to their destination on time.
United says during the first four months using ConnectionSaver, more than 14,000 people were able to make flights they would have otherwise missed.
The company plans to expand the tool to more airports in the coming months.
