Vaping Crisis

There are now eight confirmed deaths in the U.S. linked to vaping-related illnesses. In addition, hundreds of people across the country have gotten sick from vaping.

The latest report from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services shows 21 counties in the state now have a confirmed case of severe lung disease linked to vaping. Racine County is one of them.

The Executive Director of the Hope Council on Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse discusses the dangers, the fascination for teens, and how we reached the crisis point.

Lantern Festival Update

We’re just days away from the Lantern Festival starting at the Racine Zoo. CBS 58 was the first to bring you the news the festival was coming and we’ve been giving you updates on Racine & Me along the way.

This time we get a first-hand account of how workers from China create the lanterns. We also get a status update and find out how close the crew is to completing the course and testing it out. A worker from Zigong, China even shows off three of the finished lanterns in the studio.

Savour

It’s a sensory experience to tantalize your taste buds and excite your mind! We give you a sneak peek of Savour, an annual benefit for the Racine Art Museum. It pairs local food with art.

Food & Art Pairing

We reveal one of the food and art pairings for this year’s Savour event benefitting the Racine Art Museum. Artist Alex Mandli and Chef Marcelo Ginestel of Pampa Mia Argentinian Delicatessen and Grill in Racine show you the creations they came up. They also share the common threads between each of their passions.
