MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- They're among the tallest buildings on the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee campus and on Tuesday, Aug. 26, the Sandberg Hall Towers were probably the busiest buildings on campus -- marking the start of move-in days for students.
Families like the Kloocks spent the morning squeezing their student's possessions into elevators and then into the rooms that will serve as a home for at least the next semester.
More than 4,400 students are moving into residence halls at UWM with 2,800 of them in Sandburg Hall.
Every year, for almost every family, the day is filled with mixed emotions.
"I was very nervous that I would have too much stuff, but looking at everyone else's stuff I think, only a little bit too much stuff," said Addison Kloock, incoming UWM student. "I'm excited to get moved in and ready for college."
"I don't know if it'll be quieter, but it's certainly gonna be a little more empty, and definitely gonna be weird," said Addison's dad, Zak Kloock. "Gonna be a little bit lonely."
With so many students, move-ins are being staggered through the week. Classes start Tuesday, Sept. 2.
