MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The suspect in the 14-hour long standoff on Milwaukee's northwest side has been charged.

Thirty-three-year-old Vance Lee has been charged with: 

  • One count of failure to comply with officer's attempt to take person into custody
  • Ten counts of possession of a firearm by out-of-state felon
  • One count of disorderly conduct, use of a dangerous weapon
  • One count of endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon
  • One count of criminal damage to property (less than $2,500), use of a dangerous weapon
  • Two counts of possession of a firearm silencer


MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Police Department has released details about a tactical situation that took place Saturday, March 28.

A 33-year-old man barricaded himself inside a home near 68th and Brentwood on Saturday, March 28 after threatening to shoot victims during a domestic dispute, according to Milwaukee police.

When officers arrived around 8:05 a.m., the suspect refused to come out. Police established a tactical situation and deployed negotiators. During the standoff, a police drone was deployed and the suspect shot it, police said.

After several hours and the use of chemical agents, the man was arrested without any other problems.

Criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.


MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- CBS 58 crews went back to the scene of the tactical situation on Sunday morning, March 29.

The scene appeared to be fully clear of any police presence, with people out in the neighborhood. 

CBS 58 is following an hours-long tactical situation happening on Milwaukee's far northwest side on Saturday, March 28. 

Police have set up a perimeter near 71st and Brentwood, where officers have been on the scene for hours with armored vehicles and several other units. 

CBS 58 crews on scene witnessed multiple loud bangs earlier Saturday night, followed by either gas or smoke emerging near the house. Milwaukee police were heard yelling at someone to come out and that they were under arrest.
