Former Bucks guard Malik Beasley indicted in federal sports betting investigation

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) - Former Malik Beasley has been indicted on federal charges stemming from an alleged sports betting scheme.

According to ESPN's Shams Charania, Beasley is accused of participating in a scheme involving point shaving and prop bets. Federal authorities are coordinating a voluntary surrender later this week.

Beasley spent the 2023-24 season with the Milwaukee Bucks, appearing in 79 games while making 77 starts. He averaged 11.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game during his lone season in Milwaukee.

He later joined the Detroit Pistons for the 2024-25 season, where he finished as the runner-up for the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year award.

No additional details about the indictment were immediately released.
