Dropping temps and a shower chance for Brewers Opening Day
Happy Opening Day! The Brewers season starts today! We know it's not going to be as cold as the last few home openers for the Brewers season. Both 2024 and 2025 saw first pitch temps around 39 and both years saw some rain and even a touch of snow. 2023 was a warm year in the upper 50s. Only one year sine American Family Field, formerly Miller Park, has the roof been open for the home opener. That was in 2010 with a 72 degree temp.
This year the first pitch temp should hover around 50 degrees. That's probably not even the high for the day. The "high" will probably go down closer to 60 that we saw just after midnight early this morning. The daytime high will be in the low 50s during tailgating with temps dropping through the 40s during the game.
We stay mostly dry during the morning hours although a rogue shower is not of the question, especially in our northern counties. The better rain chance will be for the afternoon and evening hours.
Rain totals don't look super impressive for Thursday with rain totals of only a few hundredths of an inch or a tenth or two in some areas. If we do see any thunderstorms then rain totals would be higher. The better storm risk will be to our south in Illinois where some severe storms are possible stretching east into Indiana and Ohio. A Level 3 Enhanced Risk for severe storms is in place in those areas.
