Common Council approves legislation for DPW reserve force to help with snow removal

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Common Council has approved legislation directing the Department of Public Works to develop a reserve force of drivers and supervisors recruited from the ranks of retired city employees to add resources during snow and ice removal operations.

Common Council members hope the reserve force will help address many of the issues DPW faces during snow and ice operations. The reserve force is also expected to reduce removal times and combat high turnover rates.
