MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The two-day Block Build MKE revitalization project kicked off Friday, Aug. 14. Hundreds of volunteers are coming together to help revitalize Milwaukee neighborhoods in need.
The group will be providing repairs to 15 homes for the next two days in the Clarke Square neighborhood.
Many volunteers say they are happy to help and keep families safe in their homes.
"Especially if you don't have working plumbing or if you have other situations that are going on, being in your home is not always the safest place. So it has been a really big realization for us and a really big pleasure for us to be here to really help with some really critical and life-saving repairs that we'll be doing for people," said Lynnea Katz-Petted, CEO of Block Build MKE.
The CEO of Block Build Milwaukee, Lynnea Katz-Petted, is asking for volunteers to go to Saturday's Block Build. Masks and gloves will be provided for volunteers.
