89-year-old woman dead after running a stop sign, two others seriously injured

A two vehicle crash claimed the life of one person and injured two others Friday morning in Fond du Lac County.

The incident happened around 10 a.m. on US Highway 151 at the intersection of Wolf Road in the Town of Oakfield.

According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, 89-year-old Charlotte Marie Roessi of West Bend suffered significant injuries and died at the scene of the accident.  Roessi was alone in her car.

The driver of the second vehicle, 33-year-old man from Waupun and his  passenger, a 27-year-old woman were injured in the crash,   Both were taken to the Waupun Memorial Hospital with what is described as non-life threatening injuries.  A 1-year-old child riding in the car was not injured, but was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

According to the State Patrol, the Buick Sedan driven by Roessi was northbound on Wolf Road. and field to yield the right-of-way at a stop sign at the HWY 151 intersection.  Buick and the vehicle occupied by the two adults and child collided in the intersection.  Despite life-saving measures,Roessi died at the scene of the accident.
