COLBY, Wis. (WSAW) -- A 24-year-old woman is expected to be charged with drunken driving after she's accused of crashing her vehicle into a creek with three young children inside.

The accident happened on County Highway E in the Town of Colby on Dec. 22.

According to court documents, Emmalee Dingee ran to a nearby home after her vehicle overturned and landed in a creek around 1:40 a.m that morning. The homeowner called 911 after Dingee knocked on the patio door and said she need help while holding a 3-month-old child. A 4-year-old was standing next to Dingee. The vehicle crashed about 100 yards from the home. An 18-month-old child was sitting in the snow outside the vehicle.

Dingee and children were transported to a Marshfield hospital for medical evaluation.

Investigators said Dingee refused a blood draw following the crash. Nearly eight hours after the crash she was arrested and she blew a .04, according to court documents.

She's expected to be charged with second degree recklessly endangering safety, three counts of operating while intoxicated with a passenger under 16-years-old and operating without a valid license.
