Washington County man killed in single-vehicle crash

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Washington County officials are investigating a fatal crash in the Town of Farmington. 

First responders arrived at the scene near Cty Tk M in the Town of Farmington around 5:40 p.m. Thursday, April 30, after callers reported a vehicle that went into the ditched and overturned. 

Bystanders found the driver unresponsive, according to the sheriff's office, and began rendering aid until emergency services arrived. 

Officials say the driver-the sole occupants of the vehicle-was pronounced dead at the scene. 

He was identified as a man in his 70s from the Town of Trenton. 

The sheriff's office says an initial investigation indicates the driver was traveling southbound on Cty Tk M when the vehicle went into the southbound shoulder, across the northbound lane, and into the east ditch. An investigation is ongoing.
