HALES CORNERS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Volunteers gathered at Hales Corners Park Friday morning for an annual Arbor Day event.
For the fourth year in a row, Milwaukee Parks Foundation hosted a tree planting followed. Volunteers grabbed their gloves and shovels and got to work for a project that helps preserve the beauty of county parks.
"I think it's good for the community to do your part," said volunteer Jacob Griffin. "It just makes it easier because I have been on the park side too, so the more help just makes things a whole lot easier for the team, allows them to do more projects."
More than 60 trees have been planted across Milwaukee since the event began, and more than $20,000 has gone toward Milwaukee Parks Foundation's reforestation efforts.
