3 dead in killings spanning Seattle to Kenosha; suspect arrested in Chicago
CBS 58 KENOSHA, Wis. (CBS 58) — Three people are dead in killings spanning Seattle to Kenosha, and a 33-year-old suspect is under arrest in Chicago.
Authorities arrested Michael Oneal Fleming around 7 p.m. Tuesday following a search. Investigators say he is linked to all three deaths, including the killings of his mother and her husband in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
Police discovered the bodies of 59-year-old Rena Oneal and her 57-year-old husband, Rodney Brushwood, during a welfare check Monday at a home near 55th Street and Washington Road.
A police dispatch recording captured a call reporting two people who were not conscious or breathing.
Court documents indicate the couple may have been dead for several days before officers found them.
Investigators identified Fleming, Oneal’s 33-year-old son, as a person of interest in the Kenosha case.
According to court documents, Fleming’s twin brother told detectives that his brother’s text messages seemed “erratic, delusional and in some sort of mental health crisis.”
The investigation also extends to Seattle, where gas station employee and Fleming's former coworker Graeme Dobbeck was shot and killed last week.
Court documents state that the gas station owner reviewed surveillance video and identified Fleming. Fleming faces a first-degree murder charge in connection with Dobbeck’s death.
Authorities arrested Fleming in Chicago around 7 p.m. Tuesday after searching for him.
Fleming is also expected to face charges in Wisconsin as the investigation continues.
