CBS 58's Hometown Athlete: Brown Deer and Badgers' Zack Baun leads the Eagles
WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- "It's the best work you're gonna get, I think anywhere," Zack Baun says. "Especially here in Wisconsin. So that's the reason we all come back, is for Brad and this place."
Zack Baun trains at NX Level in Waukesha in the offseason, not far from his Brookfield home.
"A lot of us played together at Wisconsin," Baun says. "And then a lot of guys came later, or we heard of that were also Badgers, so it's cool to have that connection. And then the guys that aren't Badgers are, everyone's welcome here, so it's super cool."
Baun lived a dream, picking off the Pack on the way to the Super Bowl.
"Hopefully I get back to the Super Bowl," Baun says. "After getting a taste of that, that's really all you wanna achieve."
Now viewed as a captain and leader with the Eagles.
"It's inspirational for me and for my teammates to tell them stories about where I came from," Baun says. "Where I was in the league. And then to now to have a captain's patch on my chest is, I think it's truly inspirational and I just try to spread that word and help guys along the way."
