Passenger dies, driver hurt after Germantown police chase ends in Milwaukee crash

CBS 58 MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Germantown police say officers tried to stop a car they were looking for in a criminal investigation at around 11:05 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 20 in the village, before the vehicle allegedly drove off recklessly.
That prompted a chase, later ending in Milwaukee when the car hit a pole at 46th and Fairmount, police say.
The 50-year-old driver has serious injuries and was taken to a hospital. The 58-year-old passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say an investigation is ongoing.
