MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Grace Coffee Company in Milwaukee's Third Ward is back open after a truck crashed into the shop around 2 a.m. on Friday, March 27, according to owner Nicki Bloomer.
Security footage from inside the shop shows the driver attempting to back the truck out before he and a passenger climbed from the wreckage and ran south down Water Street. No one was injured.
The crash damaged the window, furniture, main counter and floors. Despite the damage, the shop reopened Friday, April 3, with a boarded-up window.
"We're lucky that there's no structural damage to the building, so we were able to get up and operating pretty quick. But I do think there's going to be pretty extensive construction for weeks and months to come, but we'll do that as we can," Bloomer said.
The shop's baker marked the reopening by making truck-shaped cookies.
Police say a 24-year-old man was arrested but will not face charges.
