MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Safe and Sound held a groundbreaking ceremony Friday, April 24, for Peace Corner, a new outdoor community space on Milwaukee's northwest side for youth engagement, neighborhood events and prevention programming.
The project was funded by a $100,000 grant from Impact100 Greater Milwaukee.
"There's a lot of opportunity here, with this pavilion, to bring us together and have the conversation," said District 7 Alderman DiAndre Jackson. "I hated Zoom meetings, so now that we're back in the real world, it's time for us to connect in a real way, and Safe and Sound is doing that."
Safe and Sound is also hosting a Drug Take Back Day event throughout Milwaukee on Saturday, April 25 in partnership with the Milwaukee Police Department.
