RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) – U.S. Cellular customers in Racine will be among the first to have access to the company’s 5G network.
U.S. Cellular says this will occur in the first quarter of 2020. It says 5G will provide customers with faster data speeds, a ‘more responsive mobile experience,’ and the ability to connect several devices to the network at the same time.
"It's really the next step in the evolution of our network," said Director of Sales, Andy Schlingman. "We brought it to the state of Wisconsin because this is one of our larger markets throughout our footprint, and we want to make sure customers are getting the best customer service they can get. And 5G is a big part of that."
U.S. Cellular will begin turning on its 5G network in larger Wisconsin communities including parts of Milwaukee, Green Bay, Madison and Racine, with plans for 115 additional cities across Wisconsin.
