MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Passover, the Jewish holiday celebrating the liberation of the Israelites from Egypt, begins at sundown Wednesday, April 1 and runs through Thursday, April 9.
The holiday is marked by traditional food, family gatherings and a spirit of perseverance.
"Any one of us with the right intention and right values, if we work really hard then maybe we can make a miracle happen or maybe we can part the sea and let joy replace the ois that have filled our world right now," said Mark Shapiro of the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center in Milwaukee.
