OCONOMOWOC, Wis. (CBS 58) -- More than 20 charities across the area are benefiting from an annual campaign this holiday season.
Potawatomi Hotel and Casino's Heart of Canal St. campaign raised nearly $1.2 million dollars.
On Tuesday, a check for more than $36,500 was delivered to Zachariah's Acres in Oconomowoc. CBS 58 is a proud media partner of the campaign and chose to support Zachariah's Acres.
The non-profit helps connect people with special needs and their families to nature. Right now, it serves more than 7,000 people.
Zachariah's Acres plans to use the money to build a bigger greenhouse where they grow fruits, vegetables and plants.
"The gift is going to allow us to expand our opportunities," Zachariah's Acres Director of Community Impact Emily Enockson said. "Partner with new organizations, new schools, new non-profits and to have work experiences and also really valuable educational experiences for kids with special needs."
Zachariah's Acres hopes to have the new greenhouse built by Fall 2020.
