Nearly 60 years later: UWPD continues to seek answers in the murder of Christine 'Chris' Rothschild
UWPD MADISION, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The University of Wisconsin - Madison Police Department (UWPD) is renewing efforts in finding more information surrounding the homicide of Christine 'Chris' Rothschild - 58 years later.
Rothschild was found murdered next to Sterling Hall on May 26, 1968, the Sunday of finals week.
She was just a freshman.
This year marks 58 years, and UWPD is requesting anyone who knew Rothschild to reach out with any experiences, whether that is you attended, lived, or visited UW-Madison around this period or lived at Ann Emery Hall - the residence hall that Rothschild lived in.
UWPD asks for anyone that has either seen something or someone during that period to come forward, even those who didn't initially during that time.
Police say that even if you believe the information is insignificant or believe they are already aware of it, to still contact them as the information can help move the investigation forward.
Every piece helps.
Anyone with information about Chris Rothschild is asked to contact the UWPD Tip Line at 608-265-2345 or email [email protected]. Anonymous tips can be shared through Madison Area Crime Stoppers at 608-266-6014, or online at www.p3tips.com.
