MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. (CBS 58) - Several Mount Pleasant residents have filed a federal lawsuit against Microsoft, claiming noise from the company's new data center has disrupted daily life.
According to the lawsuit, homeowners who live near the facility allege the noise is loud, persistent and pervasive.
One resident said a constant humming noise is especially noticeable at night, while another claimed the noise has discouraged people from spending time outdoors.
On its website, Microsoft says it has implemented noise mitigation measures at the data center and believes the issue has been resolved. The company also says it will continue monitoring noise levels at the site.
