MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee native got a big surprise at his commencement over the weekend.
Demarcus Harris was one of the Morehouse College graduation class that's getting their student debt paid for.
Tech CEO Robert Smith made the announcement during his commencement speech. Harris is a member of the MKE Fellows Program which helps young men get into college and encourages them to return to Milwaukee after graduation.
"The kinds of things these young men have been able to do has been pretty remarkable, so I think Mr. Smith's gift of creating leaders who can change their various communities is great," said John Daniels, Chairman Emeritus with Quarles and Brady.
The MKE Fellows Program has helped send 20 students to Morehouse College over the past eight years.
