MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The attorney for former Milwaukee police chief Alfonso Morales wants a judge to order the city to reinstate him soon.
"They've been blocking the door in the Police Administration Building to the return of Alfonso Morales, and we're trying to say to them you are defying the decision of Judge Foley," said Morales' attorney, Frank Gimbel.
In a motion filed this week, Gimbel said the city has failed to abide by a Milwaukee County judge's December decision to reinstate Morales as chief after the Fire and Police Commission illegally demoted him to captain in August.
Gimbel claims since that decision, the city has not made a settlement offer to Morales or provided a date for him to return to work as police chief.
