MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Thursday night, CBS 58 made a stop at the 3rd Street Market Hall, where a unique fundraiser celebrated a decade of donations.
It was the 10th "Unwrapped MKE" for SHARP Literacy, a nonprofit organization that brings educational programs to 44 schools in Milwaukee and Waukesha counties.
Ten top Milwaukee chefs were given ingredients from McDonald's to transform them into gourmet dishes.
Like Big Mac tartar, a lobster martini salad, and apple and strawberry creme pies.
"Get our kids excited about learning and experiential learning, teaching these kids essential skills, perseverance and teamwork and critical thinking skills," said Lynda Kohler-Welsh, president and CEO of Sharp Literacy. "We don't charge the schools."
Over the past decade 'Unwrapped MKE' has raised $700,000 for SHARP Literacy.
