Manitowoc Man Injured After Fleeing From Police and Crashing Through Airport Gate

A Wisconsin State Trooper attempted to stop a Toyota Celica for a speed violation on I41 northbound, just south of State Highway 44. The suspect fled from the trooper and made his way towards the Oshkosh Airport.

The vehicle entered airport property by ramming through a gate. The suspect then drove around a few of the access roads around the airport before entering the runway area of the airport.

The suspect's vehicle became disabled between two of the runways. He was taken into custody without incident.

The suspect has been identified as 56-year-old Lee Konop from Manitowoc. He was transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
