Man arrested after police chase, crash in West Allis

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- West Allis officers arrested a 25-year-old man from Milwaukee after a chase and crash Wednesday evening, April 29. 

Police say that around 6 p.m. Wednesday, an officer saw a black Mercedes without a front license plate and an illegal side window tint make an abrupt turn from W. Mitchell onto S. 60th. 

The officer attempted a traffic stop along W. Greenfield but the Mercedes sped away, causing a pursuit.

The Mercedes eventually crashed into a light pole at the intersection of W. Greenfield and S. 84th. After crashing into the pole, the Mercedes struck another vehicle. 

The driver of the Mercedes was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital. 

The two occupants of the other vehicle weren't hurt and declined medical attention.

The 25-year-old was arrested for fleeing an officer, second degree recklessly endangering safety, possession of THC, possession of drug paraphernalia and operating a vehicle while intoxicated. 

He also received several municipal citations including operating without a valid license.
