MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- To discuss Other Health Impairment, or OHI, as part of a broader conversation about special education, we were joined by Judy Cohen of Lakeside Educational Services on Wednesday, April 15.
Cohen explained that OHI applies when a child has limited strength, vitality or alertness because of a chronic or acute health condition that adversely affects educational performance. She said those conditions can include ADHD, asthma, epilepsy, diabetes and other medical issues.
She also outlined some of the questions IEP teams consider when determining eligibility for services.
