The Charles Antetokounmpo Family Foundation is asking for a list of items ahead of the organization's Family Day scheduled for next month.

Charles was Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo's father, who died in September 2017 from a heart attack.

On Friday morning, local organizations worked together to hold the first of five community donation drop-off events at the MFC Sports Complex in Glendale.

"Baby toys, diapers, clothes, maternity stuff, anything I was no longer using," said Briana Stephens, who came by with a box of donations. "I thought it was a perfect opportunity to give back to the community and get rid of things that I no longer use and someone else can use."

For Lyn Servais, it was also a chance to make sure items her two young daughters had outgrown weren't just tossed away.

“Every mom needs support, needs someone to lean on, needs help and so I think that’s the biggest thing that you’re not alone in motherhood and everyone’s out there to help out and chip in," Servais said.

All of the donated items will go toward mothers and families in need during Family Day.

"Getting the community involved is the most important aspect," said Mariah Antetokounmpo, who is married to Giannis. "I think after becoming a parent, you see all that goes into it, the things that you need, add that on top of rent, different bills, medical bills, you know? "I want to help in any way I can, take that off of someone else's plate so that they can focus on their house or focus on providing that food."

Antetokounmpo added that she wants to encourage everyone in the area to step up and help.

"You know that the items here are going directly to the families, that's what's most important, even if we have leftover items after the event, they all go toward local organizations," Antetokounmpo said. "Just be that community for those families, be that village, and that's what's most important."

If you missed Friday's drop-off event, there are still four more you can get to. For more information, click here
