Gov. Evers declares Friday, Dec. 18 'HARIBO Gummi Day' in honor of new Pleasant Prairie factory

WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- To formally welcome international candy manufacturer HARIBO to Wisconsin -- who broke ground on its new Pleasant Prairie plant -- Gov. Tony Evers declared Friday, Dec. 18 as "HARIBO Gummi Day" in the state of Wisconsin.

To celebrate, Milwaukee's Hoan Bridge will be lit up Friday in the five colors found in a bag of Goldbears.

“HARIBO is the fastest growing confectionery brand in the U.S. I’m proud that its products will be made right here in Wisconsin,” said Gov. Evers back in October. “We warmly welcome HARIBO to a long list of family-run enterprises that form the economic backbone of our state, making best-in-class products that reach every corner of the globe.”

Production on the new site is set to begin in 2021.
